On the request of Friends of the River Indus, World Bank s Inspection
panel had LBOD and RBOD project on the agenda on April 15 discussion ,
FOTRI joined that discusssion today and asked questions on LBOD and
RBOD and informed the panel about recent deaths and disoster in Hamal,
Warah taluka of Shahdadkot district of Sindh, asked questions about the
findings and progress in the WB s' fact finding mission sent to Badin last
year.
This was an open discussion was with Edith Brown-Weiss (Chair) and Eduardo
Abbot (Executive Secretary) of the World Bank Inspection Panel. The
Inspection Panel made a brief presentation on their current work,
opportunities, and challenges in strengthening project accountability at the
World Bank, was held at Connecticut Ave, Washington, United States.A
request submitted by Friends of The River Indus last week LBOD and RBOD
and other water projects in Sindh and Pakistan were added to the agenda.
