Karachi: Speakers at an international conference on Dec 19 suggested
that teachings of the Sufis like Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal
Sarmast and Bhai Chanrai Saami, which were based on love and peace be
spread , so that the people in subcontinent could coexist in a
peaceful and harmonious environment...

VISITING INDIAN SINDHI WRITERS PRAISES PERFORMANCE OF SINDHOLOGY,
JAMSHORO

HYDERABAD: A delegation of Indian Sindhi writers, poets and
intellectuals, led by Suresh A. Keswani, a member of the Rajya Sabha
and vice- chairman of the Sindhi Academy, New Delhi, arrived here on
Tuesday, Dec 21 and visited the Institute of Sindhology and Sindhi
Adabi Board (SAB).

Speaking at the Institute, Mr Keswani thanked people of Sindh for
according warm welcome to his delegation and expressed the hope that
the relations between India and Pakistan would be further
strengthened..

INDIAN DELEGATION CHIEF MR KESWANI ADVISES TO FORGET PAIN OF
PARTITION;  INVEST IN NEW ECONOMY - BASED BLOCKS BEING EMERGED IN THE
WORLD

HYDERABAD: In an interview with Sindhi daily of Karachi, Mr Keswani
told the scribe of the paper at Hyderabad that new economy-based
blocks are being formed and all Sindhis have to concentrate to make
investment there.

To a question, he said instead of talking on the pain of Partition
(Indo-Pak), we have should have to concentrate uniting Sindhis
(Continued - 05).

Sonia Gandhi's message to Int'l Conference

KARACHI: The All India Congress Committee chief Ms Sonia Gandhi has
sent a message, which was read at the conference by Suresh Keswani,
and its Sindhi translation was read by Laxman Bhatia Komal.

In her message, Ms Gandhi said: "Sindh is of India and Pakistan
symbolize the rich ties of shared culture, language and history that
bind our countries. Sindhi culture and literature has a long noble
tradition of secularism, universal brotherhood and peace, and it is
heartening to know that this conference will pay homage to these
values.

STEPS URGED TO PRESERVE SINDHI CULTURE & ENHANCE INTERACTION BETWEEN
SINDHI PEOPLES LIVING ACROSS THE INDO-PAKISTAN BORDER  TO STRENGTHEN
FRIENDLY TIES

Karachi: The participants of an international peace conference have
stressed in a resolution adopted at the end of the moot that enhanced
interaction between the Sindhi peoples living across the Indo-Pak
border could help establish and strengthen friendly ties between the
two countries.

The resolution was unanimously adopted by the participants of "Shah,
Sachal, Saami; International Peace Conference" organized by the Sindh
Graduates Association that concluded on Monday, Dec 20, 2004...

EMOTIONAL SCENES WITNESSED WHEN INDIAN SINDHI WRITERS REACH THEIR
ABANDONED ANCESTRAL HOMES

KANDIARO: Emotional scenes were witnessed when members of visiting
Indian delegation reached at their ancestral homes in different towns
of Sindh.  Due to partition of United India, they had to migrate to
present India by leaving their homes.

Three writers Jethaanand, Ghansham and Arjan when they arrived at
Kandiaro in Sindh, to see their old homes, they started to kiss the
walls and doors of their former homes.

Earlier on their way at Sakrand, they visited the home of well known
Indian Sindhi intellectual Kirat Babani who is currently not visiting
Pakistan.

In Nowshehro Feroze District, at Qasim Khahi, they visited the house
of well known Indian poet late Narian Shayam. Nevertheless, there was
scheduled a marriage ceremony in that house which was postponed to
facilitate visit of Indian writers.

The delegation visited Shikarpur for only 10 minutes and Nand Javeri
visited his home.

DR SATISH ROHERA PROPOSED SINDHI UNIVERSITY IN WASHINGTON, DC, USA

Karachi: Visiting indian sindhi intellectual and writer Dr Satish
Rohera has suggested that  a Sindhi University be set up in
Washington, DC, USA which should provide research opportunities on
Sindh, Sindhi literature and culture and prepare atmosphere for
getting higher education for Sindhi students.

He was addressing a 3-day Shah, Sachal & Saami International Peace
Conference in Karachi recently. Dr Rohera said since Pakistan and
India are talking sometime about war and sometime peace, the said
University be set up in another country.

VISITING INDIAN SINDHI WRITERS & INTELLECTUALS AT SHRINE OF HAZRAT
SHAH ABDUL LATEEF BHITTAI & GRAVE OF NATIONAL SINDHI POET SHAIKH AYAZ

HYDERABAD: A delegation of Indian Sindhi writers, poets and
intellectuals , led by Mr Suresh Keswani, vice chairman of Sindhi
Accademy, New delhi, visited the Sindhi Language Authority here on
Wednesday, Dec 22, 2004.

The delegation also visited the shrine of Shah Abdul Lateef Bhittai
and grave of Shaikh Ayaz in Bhit Shah. They also visited the Makhdoom
house in Hala besides Udero Lal.

Sindhi Mushairo [poetry recitation]: The delegation also attended a
"Mushairo" jointly organized by the Bazam-i-Rooh Rihan, Sindhi Adabi
Sangat (SAS) and Faqir Manthaar Academy at Sindh Museum here late
Tuesday night (Dec 21, 2004) (31i23).

CULTURAL MUSICAL NIGHT IN HONOUR OF VISITING SINDHIS FROM INDIA
ORGANIZED AT KARACHI

KARACHI: A night-long musical cultural show was hosted/sponsored by a
private Sindhi TV channel in collaboration with Sindh Fankar Welfare
Trust, at Art Council’s Open Theatre, here in Karachi, in honor of
visiting 27-member delegation of Sindhi poets, writers, intellectuals,
journalists, singers and heads of literary organizations from India.

It was first such a huge gathering of Sindhis from Sindh and
India. Over two thousands Sindhis attended and cherished the Sindhi
music, classical Rog, Shah Jo Kalaam, in the program.

Sindhis from India danced along with Sindhi singers on the stage when
songs of love, Sindh and peace were sung by singers. All the audience
paid rich respect & showed their love to visiting guests, who were
here in Sindh's tour for 10 days..

HISTORICALLY SINDHI RETURNS TO THEIR SINDH EVEN AFTER THOUSANDS OF
YEARS; EMIGRANTS ARE READY TO INVEST IN SINDH BUT WHO WILL GIVE THEM
GUARANTEE

HYDERABAD: The chief of visiting Indian Sindhi writers' delegation Mr
Suresh A. Keswani has said historically Sindhis return to their land
Sindh after thousands of years.

Talking to a private Sindhi TV channel, he he lamented that new
generation in India has almost become irrelevant to Sindhi language.

Mr Keswani said we Sindhi Hindus are ready to invest in setting up of
industry in Sindh but we should be given political and social
guarantee.

To a question, he said the children of rich Sindhi people are speaking
Urdu language in their homes. He said he went to the house of Tajal
Baiwas (noted Sindhi poet) where his children were speaking in Urdu
language. Therefore, they should be not blamed for this, he remarked.

EMIGRANTS SINDHIS BE GIVEN RIGHT TO COME-BACK; SAYS SINDHI
INTELLECTUAL MOHAMMAD IBRAHIM JOYO

HYDERABAD: Aged Sindhi intellectual Mohammad ibrahim Joyo has
suggested that Sindhis who migrated to India after the year 1950, be
given right to come back and settle here...


MS VIMMI WANTS TO VISIT HISTORICAL PLACES & HER VILLAGE; MS RESHMI
SAYS SHE IS VISITING HER OWN COUNTRY; MRS MAAYA RAHI PRAISES LOVE OF
PEOPLE

SUKKUR: Three female members of visiting Indian Sindhi writers'
delegation have given their comments on their current visit of Sindh.

Young Sindhi Ms Vimmi Sadarangnani said she wants to visit here
historical places and her village.

Ms Reshmi feels that she is visiting her own country.

Mrs Mayaa Raahi said she cann't forget the love and affection which
the member of visiting delegation have received from people of Sindh.
