GUL AGHA'S ADVISE TO SINDHI-AMERICANS
CHAMPAIGN, IL: Sindhi activist Mr Gul Agha, has emphasized Sindhis-
Americans to play their particular role in American society. In an
E-mail, he writes;
"The U.S. is a participatory democracy. Sindhi-Americans have special
knowledge about Sindh. Thus, Sindhi-Americans have a duty as American
citizens to lobby the American government for policies that promote
Sindhi interests as these interests coincide with the values of the
American people and the founding values of American republic --
liberty, justice, democracy and secularism. It is no different than
the role of Cuban Americans, Tibetan Americans and others play."
History Speaks:
RANIKOT FORT [SINDH] - THE LARGEST FORT IN THE WORLD
Ranikot Fort: The Fort is claimed to be the largest fort in the
world. It might well be so, too, as the wall around the circumference
measures 24 kilometers, and it looks like the Great Wall of China
stretching across the landscape. It stands on a trade route through
the Khirthar Mountains. It is ancient, origins unknown, though some of
the more modern construction seems to date from the Talpur Mirs. There
is barely a track to it, so it is best reached by camel.
