Re: Her, Soc, Pol: My thoughts on Independence Day celebrations

Deepak:

I appreciate your telling us your true feelings. There is both longing for
Sindhiyat and desperation of being stateless in your emotional rendition. I
think there is nothing to celebrate for Sindhis, be it the independence of
Pakistan or India. We Sindhis, Muslims and Hindus, have lost our land,
language, culture and above all liberty. Unless, we rise above divisions
within our ranks, It is only a matter of time when our coming generations
will only be able to read in books that there was Sindh and there were
Sindhis. History tells us that when nations give up their desire to be free
others would usurp them and they will be annihilated from the face of the
earth. Only those nations survive in this doggy dog world that consider their
land, language, culture and freedom above all petty differences of religion,
social class, and economic standing.

Even in your emotional rendering you seek division of Sindh. It shows the
division, the fear, the lack of will and unfaithfulness. Land is like our
mother. How can you divide one's mother among her children? We need to learn
to live together. Instead of living in cocoons we should come out and face
the reality. The reality is that Sindhis can survive as a nation and
safeguard their values, their culture, and their language only through
preserving, protecting and projecting Sindh for Sindhis. There are the ups
and downs in the history of the nations. When the chips are down we should
coalesce to be one and never forget our roots. Even if it takes thousands of
years we shall not give up our God given right to the land of Sindh. You can
never walk away from your motherland. It is cowardice, it is shameful, it is
unworthy. Let the flame of freedom of Sindh burn in every Sindhi heart. We
shall not talk of Hindu Sindh, Muslim Sindh, Pakistan Sindh, India Sindh, or
cyber Sindh. Sindh is Sindh and it shall always remain our motherland. We
must not give up. Nobody can snatch Sindh from us. Give up this gloom and
doom. Rise up, flex your muscle, raise your voice for your inalienable
rights. The day is not far when our red flag shall flutter in the free air of
Sindh and we all Sindhis irrespective of what religion we have, what language
we speak, where we were born, shall live happily ever after and show the
world how to live in peace, prosperity and progress. Never give up the dream,
the hope and yearning to be free in your own land that our ancestors gave
their lives for thousands of years. Never ever think that you can give it up
without a fight.

My translation:

See the diamonds, don't stone, this trader will not come again,
look at your ability, then you speak, this noise is invain,
we reap what we sowed, but Oh Ayaz! Sindh shall die never,
The night shall also pass, Why do yo fear? Oh my dear!

With much respect
