Her: Abida Parveen in Houston and LA (today and tomorrow)

Friends!

Just saw these announcements on a usenet newsgroup.  Abida Parveen is
probably the most popular Kafi Singer in Sindhi, and especially in the
Siraiki dialect.  She'll be performing in Houston tonight and LA
tomorrow night.  But seeing that the organizers have added Persian to
the list of languages she'll be singing in (highly unlikely,
considering she doesn't know any Persian), I'd say it's mostly going
to be in Urdu and Punjabized Siraiki.

The world-renowned Sufi artist Abida Parveen will be performing with her
ensemble in Houston on Friday, 18 June.  She will be presenting in her unique
style various forms of devotional kalam, including qavvali, Kafi, and ghazal,
in Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Persian.
