Her, Soc: Gidwani's Return of the Aryans - How to get the Book?

In my earlier message, I had promised, in response to some  considerable
mail, that I would give information on how to obtain the book - Return of the
Aryans by Bhagwan S. Gidwani . I was hoping for some information from Penguin
Books (India), but unfortunately, they hae not given me, yet, the information
on their outlets in North America.
However, during my visit to India during March 1999, I found that Penguin
Books (India) has in March 1999 itself  issued a new re-print of the book -
and it is easily & resdily selling in India at all bookshops for Rs. 300/ per
copy. For India, Rs. 300/ is a large amount to pay but in our terms it costs
equivallent of  $7.00. The best course is to ask a friend in India to mail
the book to you by registered post.  The mailing cost itself may be about Rs.
100/  as  the book is bulky with  nearly 1000 pages.
My favorite book shop is in Bombay (Mumbai). It is the Strand Book Stall on
Sir P. Mehta Road, Fort -opposite Bank of Tokyo and near Rajasthan emporium.
Why it is my favorite?  Because, its owner (Mr. Shenwi) is knowldgeable about
books, and also gives discount of 15 % on all novels you buy from him , BUT
BETTER TO ASK FOR THE DISCOUNT lest he forgets, though when I bought 2 copies
of Return of the Aryans in March for gifting to friends, he gave the discount
without my asking for it.  Bombay Telephone of Strand Book Stall is 266 1719.
The book is also available everywhere in India, for instance at Nalanda Book
shop in  Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay  (Tel: 202 2514); also at Crosswords Book
Shop(tel: 492 0253) - but I doubt if they give discounts there.
If you don’t have someone in India to mail or bring the book to you, you

they reply very promptly, despite their reputation as a high class publishers.

I wish I could have given you information about availability of the book in
North America itself. Apart from Penguin India, Penguin Canada and possibly
others had also published the book, but all copies in USA/Canada are sold
out, and reprint takes time. But if any of you have information about the
book’s availability here readily, I hope they will copy the information to
all. If Amazon/Barnes Nobels/other book outlets etc.  are on the Sindhi Net,
would they give informaion please?
If I get further information from Penguin India, I shall circulate it.

Meanwhile, I wish to reiterate my view that Gidwani’s Return of the Aryans is
a “must-read” book by all Sindhis.
